We built ClearToEnter to be the opposite of what you'd expect from a tech platform.

1. Who We Are
ClearToEnter operates the website cleartoenter.ca and cleartoenter.com. We provide Canadian immigration information tools powered by publicly available law. We are not affiliated with the Government of Canada or Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

2. Information We Collect
Free Tools & Guides
We collect zero personal data when you use our 16 free tools (admissibility explorer, fee calculator, document checklist, funds calculator, citizenship test practice, and more) or read our 189 free educational guides. Guide content is static, no tracking, no logging, no personalization. Tool inputs are processed locally in your browser and are never transmitted to our servers in a way that identifies you.
Saved Progress (on your device)
Some tools let you save progress: a document checklist, a practice score, a saved CRS result. That data is written to your own browser’s local storage and is never transmitted to us. There is no server copy and no account it could attach to. The My ClearToEnter page lists everything saved on the device you are using and clears all of it on request, and clearing your browser data clears it too.
The Deep-Dive Library (paid)
The Deep-Dive Library is an optional paid feature that is currently disabled (coming soon). Each volume is pre-written, reviewed educational content explaining publicly available law by topic. It asks you nothing, collects nothing, and transmits nothing: no answers, no personal information, no AI processing of your data. AI tools are used only during our own authoring and review of the published-law content, never on user data. The only personal data involved in a purchase is payment processing, handled entirely by Stripe.
Payment Information
All payment processing is handled by Stripe, Inc. ClearToEnter never receives, sees, or stores your credit card number, CVV, or full payment details. Stripe may collect your name, email, and billing address for fraud prevention and payment processing.
3. Cookies
We use only essential session cookies required for the site to function (e.g., maintaining your payment session after checkout), plus Google Analytics 4 cookies for anonymous usage statistics. Google Analytics (property G-MTPBWQ1M1B) collects anonymous, aggregated usage statistics: pages visited, approximate region, and device type. No accounts exist on this site, tool inputs stay in your browser, and nothing you type into a tool is ever sent to analytics. Analytics never receives your name, your email, or anything you type into a tool, because we ask for none of those. It does assign a random identifier to your browser so repeat visits are not double-counted, and it derives an approximate region from your IP address. Those are the only signals about you that leave this site, they are used only for aggregate page counts, and they cannot be linked back to a person by us. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies. Google's own privacy policy is published at policies.google.com/privacy.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use any collected information only to:
- Process your payment and grant access to paid tools
- Verify your payment session when using paid features
- Respond to support inquiries sent to hello@cleartoenter.ca
5. Third-Party Services
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any third parties for commercial purposes. Some of the services below can receive data connected to a visit; the authoring tool cannot, and is listed only so the disclosure is complete.
6. Data Retention
ClearToEnter does not maintain a database of user data of any kind. There is nothing to retain: no accounts, no submitted answers, no stored results. Access tokens for paid features are signed, self-expiring strings that carry no personal information and stop working two hours after they are issued; they are held only in server memory and are discarded when the process restarts, never written to disk or to a database. Progress saved on your device is retained by your browser until you clear it, and we cannot see it, reach it, or delete it for you.
7. PIPEDA Compliance
ClearToEnter operates in compliance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). Specifically:
- Accountability: ClearToEnter is responsible for personal information under its control.
- Identifying Purposes: We collect information only for the purposes identified in this policy.
- Consent: By using paid features, you consent to the collection described above.
- Limiting Collection: We collect only what is necessary for the stated purposes.
- Safeguards: Our infrastructure uses HTTPS, and payment data is handled entirely by Stripe.

8. Children's Privacy
ClearToEnter is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does ClearToEnter track me?
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate site usage (pages viewed, time on site, country of origin). It never receives your name, your email, or anything you type into a tool. It does set a random browser identifier so repeat visits are not double-counted, and it derives an approximate region from your IP. We use no advertising cookies and no third-party tracking scripts beyond GA4.
What happens to my answers?
Free tools process your answers locally in your browser, your data never leaves your device. The paid Deep-Dive Library is pre-written educational content: it asks you nothing and sends nothing anywhere. No user data is ever processed by AI.
Can you see my payment details?
No. Stripe handles all payment processing. We never receive, see, or store your credit card numbers, CVV, or full payment details. That data never touches our servers.
Is ClearToEnter PIPEDA compliant?
Yes. We follow all 10 PIPEDA principles: accountability, identifying purposes, consent, limiting collection, limiting use, accuracy, safeguards, openness, individual access, and challenging compliance. We collect as little as possible and keep it only as long as needed.
